Helpful Information

Financial Information

First Ideas operates on a cash pay basis, which understandably can make people want to turn away as quick as they can. We would ask that you consider the following before making your decision…

The value of the service you are receiving:

….think of the time saved in NOT traveling to a clinic!

…the money saved in gas and not getting a babysitter for siblings!

…the ongoing support through text messaging!

…and most importantly, the expert level of knowledge Julie has! (If you haven’t read the testimonials, please do that before deciding how to move forward).

You will be expected to pay for services when the session is completed (cash, HSA, FSA, credit/debit card) and a superbill will be provided for you to use to get reimbursement directly from your insurance company through your out of network benefits.

Referrals

At this time, you do NOT need a physician’s referral to access our services! We consider this a real benefit as many pediatricians are not up to date on the latest information available as it relates to early intervention.

Superbills

We provide a superbill for you after each session if you will be submitting to your insurance company for reimbursement. If you want to contact them first to see if speech/feeding are covered services, here are a few questions to help guide the conversation:

1.      What are my out-of-network benefits for Speech Therapy?

2.      Is pre-authorization required for out-of-network therapy?

3.      Are there any exclusions?

4.      Is there a limit on the number of sessions that are covered? Is this a combined visit limit with other services (OT, PT)

Our services fall under the following treatment (CPT) codes:

Evaluation of Oral-Pharyngeal Swallow Function: 92610 Swallowing Treatment: 92526 Speech-Language Evaluation: 92523 Evaluation of Speech Sound Production: 92522 Speech-Language Treatment: 92507

Diagnosis codes (ICD-10 codes) cannot be provided until after an evaluation has been completed.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I leave the room during my child's session?

Unless agreed upon, you are expected to stay and participate in your child’s session so you can learn from Julie and observe your child’s abilities in real time. It’s an opportunity for you to watch, but also practice and ask questions!

  • My kid is very shy and doesn't like strangers. It takes them a long time to open up. I feel like it won't be worth the money I'm spending.

This is actually a great challenge that Julie loves. These kids that take longer to warm up, need to develop more trust in others, build experiences of fun and being in control (within limits), and relax with a new person. Exactly a great reason to have therapy at home!

  • How far away will you travel?

If you live more than 19 miles (subject to change) from the home office, there is a $10 travel fee to cover the extra time and cost incured.
